Expedition — exploration and conquest
The window most of the group content hides behind. Two tabs, a dungeon list, a weekly allowance — and in Krao Cave a first boss that watches the clock.
Values from the TW version, not yet verified against the EU version6 min
A large part of the group content is not out in the world but behind a button. The expedition window lists the dungeons, their conditions and your allowance — and anyone who never opens it plays past half the game.
What the window holds

Two tabs on top: exploration and conquest. On the left the dungeon list, which grows with your progress:
Krao Cave · Urugugu Canyon · Fire Temple · Draupnir · Vakron Sky Island · Ferocious Horn Den · Dying Dramata’s … · Cradle of Nihility · Hall of Illusion · Azure Breath Isle …
On the right, every entry carries the same four blocks:
| Block | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Entry requirements | level, item level, party size |
| Weekly cumulative play reward | the payout for repeat runs |
| Cube reward | what the chest at the end gives |
| Guaranteed reward | a progress bar towards a certain reward |
Krao Cave, as the client states it
The first entry in the list, on the exploration tab:
| Entry | Lv. 20, item level 200, 1–5 players |
| Kinah for all bosses | 105,000 |
| Cube reward | 20 |
| Weekly counter | 6 / 14 |
The party size is worth noting: 1–5. So Krao Cave can be entered alone. For the exploration tab that is plausible — the requirement is item level 200, which you have long before level 45.
The same place at two difficulties
This is worth reading carefully, because two very different numbers circulate for the same destination.
| Tab | Entry |
|---|---|
| Exploration | level 20, item level 200 — read from the client |
| Conquest | item level 1,000, recommended 1,500 — from a community guide |
Krao Cave as conquest: three bosses and a clock
The final boss has an enrage timer of roughly five minutes. Let it run out and he goes berserk and wipes the party. Which makes Krao Cave one thing above all: a damage check.
The cave has three bosses. You can go either way; most people go left first.
The first two
Nothing special. Two rules cover it:
- Avoid the damage indicators
- Do not stand in the little rock domes they spawn
Then head for the third. In front of it stands a seal guardian — it has to fall before the path to the final boss opens.
The final boss
Four things, and three of them kill you if you do not know them.
1. Face him away from the party. One of his attacks is a wide cleave with a small safe zone behind the boss. Whoever tanks turns him away from the group — it costs nothing and saves runs.
2. The whirlwind. Announced by red embers on the ground. That is your cue to spread out: the boss chases one party member while dealing heavy area damage. If you are targeted, kite him in a circle around the edge of the zone — not through the middle, or he takes everyone with him.
3. The three stones. The boss vanishes, jumps to the centre and spawns three stones around the perimeter. You need to be behind one before the damage goes out, or the party wipes. If you cannot make it, use an invulnerability if your class has one.
4. The stagger check at 50 %. At half health the boss has to be staggered. Miss it and the party wipes. So save the big stagger skills for that moment instead of burning them earlier.
After that the whirlwind and the stones repeat until the end.
What it costs
Expeditions run on odyle energy — the same resource transcendence and Vakron draw from. The chest at the end costs, not the run.
Which is why the weekly allowance at the top of the window matters more than the reward list: runs you have enough of, energy you do not.
In short
- Two tabs, exploration and conquest, partly holding the same dungeons
- Krao Cave on the exploration tab: Lv. 20, item level 200, 1–5 players, 105,000 kinah for all bosses
- Considerably harder as conquest: item level 1,000, recommended 1,500
- The final boss is a damage check — around five minutes to enrage
- Short on gear: three DPS instead of a tank
- Remember: cleave to the rear, kite the whirlwind along the edge, get behind the stones, stagger at 50 %
- The limit is not runs but odyle energy
What is the difference between exploration and conquest?
Two tabs in the same window, partly holding the same dungeons. Exploration is the accessible version — Krao Cave sits there at level 20 and item level 200. Conquest is the same cave as group content with a far higher requirement and real boss mechanics.
What do I need for Krao Cave?
On the exploration tab, level 20, item level 200 and one to five players. For the conquest version community guides name item level 1,000 as the requirement and recommend 1,500, because the final boss enrages after about five minutes.
Why does my party wipe on the Krao Cave final boss?
Usually at one of two points: the enrage after roughly five minutes, which means it was a damage check you failed, or at 50 % health where the boss has to be staggered. Neither is bad luck; both are tests.
