Common Mistakes
The most common mistakes — costliest first
Ten decisions that can cost you weeks. Sorted by what they actually cost, not by how often they happen.
Values from the TW version, not yet verified against the EU version3 min
Most mistakes in Aion 2 feel right at the moment you make them. That is exactly the problem — you only notice weeks later, when others are further along and you cannot say why.
Sorted by cost, not by frequency.
1. Burning odyle energy on weak chests
Cost: weeks.
You get roughly 120 energy a day and a chest costs 40 — about three chests daily, out of one pool shared by expeditions, conquest, transcendence and sanctuary. Spend it while levelling on dungeon chests whose contents you replace in two weeks, and it is not there when it counts.
2. Pushing class runes past +1
The global client calls them clash items.
Cost: the rune.
From +2 they can break on failure. Not downgraded — gone. And with them, roughly 40 item levels.
3. Investing in belt and amulet past unique
Cost: tens of thousands of enhancement stones.
Both are worth it up to unique. After that, costs jump so sharply that the same resources return several times as much in the Daevanion Boards or Pantheon.
The mistake is seductive because right up to that point, continuing was correct.
4. Skipping regional quests
Cost: roughly 500 combat power.
They feel like filler and are not. They feed the Daevanion Boards, one of the largest single sources of permanent combat power in the game.
5. Rushing the story
Cost: all the cheap side content.
Once you hit level 45, enemies in the open world scale with you. What ran alongside before turns into work. Rush the story and you come back to find everything more expensive.
6. Stacking enhancement on one piece
Cost: material you lose at the next level up.
While levelling you swap gear constantly. Four pieces at +1 cost less and give more than one piece at +5.
7. Waiting for better pantheon pieces
Cost: everything the green pieces would have given in the meantime.
A green piece gives you stats starting now. The better one you are waiting for gives you nothing until it arrives.
→ Pantheon
8. Starting transcendence too early
Cost: time.
Below roughly 1650 gear score you will not make S rank, and without S rank there is no progress. That time would have been better spent in the abyss.
9. Abyss points into the weapon instead of accessories
Cost: replacing them.
Weapons come from many sources later. Accessories drop more rarely — plenty of well-geared characters are still wearing the abyss accessories they bought early.
Exception: when your weapon luck has been genuinely catastrophic.
10. Running ascension trial and raid on easy
Cost: half your weekly return.
The number of runs is limited, not your time. Easy spends the same allowance for less.
The common thread
Seven of the ten share a cause: a decision that feels good immediately, taken over one that pays off in four weeks.
When in doubt, ask exactly that question — will I still have this in four weeks? It answers most of them by itself.
