Monolith — turning feathers into permanent power

The Monolith stands in the capital and does not look like much. It is still one of the most important things to touch while levelling — because it belongs to the small group of systems whose payoff stays.

How it works

You collect feathers in the capital and spend them at the Monolith. Each level grants additional skill points.

That is all of it. No randomness, no risk, no failed attempt. You put something in, you get something out.

Why that is worth so much early

While levelling, you swap gear constantly. The chestpiece you were pleased with at level 20 is in the vendor window at level 26. Everything you invested in it is gone with it.

Skill points from the Monolith are the opposite. They are attached to your character, not to an item.

Where feathers come from

You find feathers in the capital while you are there anyway — handing in quests, restocking potions, walking to the broker. It is worth paying deliberate attention to where they sit in your first few days. After that it runs by itself.

The competition for the same resource

Here is the catch: feathers also feed the Revelation Amulet. Both systems draw on the same pool.

That is no reason to panic, but it is a reason to know. Pour everything into one and you will wonder later why the other has not moved.

The practical split:

That is a rule of thumb, not a law. If you are not struggling to level, you can start setting feathers aside earlier.

What the Monolith leads into

The Monolith is also your introduction to the Revelation Amulet — it is where you learn the feather system that stays with you for weeks afterwards.

In short

• Pick up feathers while you are in the city anyway
• Upgrade the Monolith as soon as you can afford to; there is no reason to wait
• From level 45, shift your attention to the amulet — both draw on the same pool
